I don't have a TV but I understand that people with digital channels usually have access to BBC Alba, and BBC iPlayer is UK only as far as I know. There was mention of a DVD copy - if that materialises and I can get the necessary permissions (doubtful) I'll upload it.

Re: Filming on Arran – It’s on the telly!

Folks who're not from the islands aren't able to see it?

Re: Pacific Outdoor Equipment Peak Elite AC Video

Yeah, you're not the first - I consulted the UK distributor about this problem, and it appears that after the first batch was sent out (including my sample) they swapped factories and had some real quality control issues. Mine is still going strong, but Fraser - who won the competition - has reported some deflation.

Re: Pacific Outdoor Equipment Peak Elite AC Video

I bought one of these in April 2011 and it had, erm, gone down on me twice by November. After contacting my retailer and emailing Pacific Outdoors, there seems to be a bit of a quality issue with the seams on the regular version. I stuck mine in the bath and found two tiny holes by the valve which I repaired with seamgrip but it still goes flat after about 6 hours and I can't, for the life of me, find the leak.

Afraid it's going back for a refund and I'm looking at a Big Agnes Insulated Air Core instead.

Re: Sea to Summit Specialist Duo

Sure - though I barely fitted at 6' 1".

Re: Sea to Summit Specialist Duo

Did you sleep in it? It's a pretty decent walk too and achievable by all abilities really and more than anything is very enjoyable!

shall check-in with the blog again soon!
Andy @ CheapTents
Re: My Wild Land (sorry Cumbernauld)

FANK! If I'm walking uphill, a windproof (without baselayer), combined with Thorofare trousers, is all I can stand down to near-freezing. Out in the snow last winter, this was supplemented with a silk vest underneath, and for the summit, Buffalo trousers and shirt, lately tentatively swapped for a Paramo Third Element jacket, because even I don't produce enough heat to dry out a really soggy Buffalo. I wear up to two possum hats and a buff, which allows endless tweaking whilst on the move. If things get really bad, I might add a layer of bread and butter pudding on the inside (which is where a Blizzard tent peg comes in handy). I love my merino hoody, but have found I mostly use it for sleeping, rather than walking.

Re: Jetboil Sol Ti – an UL solution?

Could this person sound more arrogant or judgmental? He doesn't look impressed! 1/10?

Lots going on for you Phil! I'll drop in to Walkhighlands, not a site I know. Gear reviews are difficult because you either cover one piece in depth or a number superficially. As long as people know, I suppose it doesn't matter.
